Priority seating
Lothian provide priority seating on all of our buses.
These seats are positioned near the bus entrance and exit doors, have more leg room and include appropriately positioned handrails and bells.
These seats are intended for use by individuals with visual, hearing, mobility and cognitive impairments, and pregnant customers.
Our drivers are here to help
Our bus drivers and Customer Support team receive disability awareness training that includes a wide range of conditions including autism, visual and hearing impairments, dementia and epilepsy. They are also trained to recognise the Thistle Assistance Card / App and Hidden Disabilities Sunflowers, and are there to help you if you need any assistance. Please just ask.
Please note that mobility scooters are not permitted on our buses at this time unless they can be folded safely and stored on the ground in the wheelchair space against the “ironing board” back rest.
The Hidden Disabilities Sunflower
Lothian is committed to promoting the Hidden Disabilities Sunflower and joins a growing list of businesses whose colleagues can provide support where needed. Sunflower Lanyards are available free of charge to customers and can be collected from our Shandwick and Waverley TravelHubs.
