The best way to check a payment is to visit our contactless portal which shows you all the journeys you’ve made in the past 28 days and how much we’ve charged you for these journeys. If you use Apple Pay or Google Pay exclusively, you may not see your journey history in the portal, but this can be requested from our Product Support team.
Please be aware that the date your payment appears on your bank statement may not be the same as the date you travelled because, at the earliest, we request payment the day after you travelled. It may also take a further couple of working days for your bank to list this payment on your bank statement.
Multiple payments may be debited from your bank account on the same day. Customers who travel on Friday, Saturday, or Sunday may experience this because most banks don’t process payments over the weekend.
If you use a Maestro card, your bank statement will show a ‘pending’ charge of £20. This is a temporary amount which will update to show the correct amount when your actual daily travel charge has been calculated – typically, the day after your travel.
If you need further help, please contact our Product Support team by emailing contactless@lothianbuses.co.uk with a note of your account ID (displayed in the contactless portal).
